Simplicity is the essence of life, but we have fallen in love with complexity!

Health diminishes when we chase complexity.

The 5 foundations of healthy living are so simple and free, yet these simple tips are not followed or taught – they should be yelled from the treetops:

  1. Eat
  2. Breathe
  3. Move
  4. Think
  5. Hydrate

As I get older, I not only grow wiser, I crave the simpler things in life.

Less stuff, collectables, clothes, trainers, kitchenware, books and more space.

Consumerism makes us feel inadequate in that to be happy we must buy all the time.

Most of us feel constantly overwhelmed with the fast pace of life.

We work hard to maintain a lifestyle that we think we want, only to find ourselves facing an ever-stacking pile of problems and bills.

Now I love buying and purchasing things that I value, and we need to keep jobs in place and industry moving, but a lot of our shopping is short quick fixes of cortisol.

Having less stuff gives you more time to focus on yourself, your loved ones and to really give yourself what you truly need.

Simple pleasures that connect us to ourselves and tribe such as going for a walk, meeting some friends, creating, reading, cooking, gardening, crafts and being part of a community group are essential for mindset.

When you get older it doesn’t matter what you’ve got, but how your health is.

TRADING COMPLEXITY FOR SIMPLICITY = PEACE

Ten things I want to be able to continue doing are:

  1. Walking up the stairs and distances without being breathless
  2. Being able to use the squat pattern for the toilet, car seat and sitting to standing in general
  3. Be able to get up and down off the floor
  4. Going on holiday and travel through airports, lifting and pulling my own bags
  5. Having my brain health and being able to handle my finances and make important decisions myself
  6. Doing the garden
  7. Sleeping pain free
  8. Have a flat tummy so that I can put my own shoes on
  9. Wash my own hair, teeth and own body
  10. Being able to pass my stories and wisdom onto others

If you share any of the values above, now is the perfect time to start looking after yourself if you have not started already.

As the saying goes: “When was the best time to plant a tree, ten years ago, when is the next best time, NOW!”

See you this week…….
