Frequently Asked Questions
You will need at least one to two years practice of taking this program.
The important point is that the Matwork modules were never ultimately intended to operate as a standalone first Pilates qualification in isolation. Because of the way the UK Pilates education and insurance landscape works, the structure we have developed is instead based around either:
- A first full Reformer qualification, with Matwork used as the foundation and supporting CPD learning around that qualification; or
- A Comprehensive qualification, where Reformer forms the initial regulated qualification and the Matwork, Tower, Chair and Barrels content sits around this as part of the broader Comprehensive pathway.
So in practical terms, this means that prospective pilates teachers who do not already hold a Level 3 Mat qualification, provided the end point is the standalone Reformer, full Mat & Reformer qualification or Comprehensive qualification pathway rather than a standalone Mat certificate.
We advise a minimum of one to two years of consistent practice.
You are the architect of your future, what you put into the modules is what you will get out. We recommend having your own speciality such as pelvic floor, pre/post natal, menopause, swimmers…there are so many options
Observation hours can be done online using Pilates Anytime or Pilates-ology or at any comprehensive studio worldwide?
You will need to pay for private lessons to catch up on the missed hours.
When we embody the work, we feel rather than over analyse. Would you go to a hairdresser who had not practiced?
Yes you can, you can book a private any time or alternatively take a semi private at the studio?
This is for hygiene, safety and learning to use the whole body. Anyone who truly understands the mind body and feet to hemisphere connection will know that sports socks don’t encourage toe separation and Vibram five-fingers are the way forwards.
