We are all trying to navigate through life the best we can with the tools in our tool box. But our results are always based on our level of awareness. We see the world as we are, not as it is! We are conditioned from a young age into belief systems, and this comes through many memes including governments, politics, schooling, religions and food giants.

“Give me the child for the first seven years and I’ll give you the man.” ― Jesuit maxim

How can this be true?

Well our beliefs are established when our brains and development are most pliable and that is between the ages of 0-7 years.

Aristotle suggested that if you want to raise a child in a certain way, the work begins from the time they are born for a very limited time. This suggests that the environment, experiences and the education a child receives during the formative years (0-7yrs) shapes who they become later in life. A child’s brain between the ages of 0-7yrs is known to be in the delta and theta brainwave state. It’s a state when they are observing and absorbing behaviours, attitudes and beliefs of others around them and subconsciously forming beliefs. These brainwaves are the same as the waves found in a person in a deep meditative state or under hypnosis. During the times when the child’s brain is in this state, it is extremely easy for them to absorb information and so for a 4 year old learning three to four different languages is nothing, compared with a 10 year old.

It is a well known fact that food giants love to get children hooked on their product early (usually through sugar and starch) as that means a customer for life. The plantation owners of the past put their slaves into schools and churches so they could only learn what to think rather than how to think (critical thinking).  The missionaries visited and landed into remote places bringing belief systems for people to follow.

The beliefs we all form about ourselves, our life or about others can be both positive and negative. This is because some beliefs may be nurturing and supporting whilst some often tend to be self-sabotaging and self-critical beliefs. Many beliefs however remain unconscious throughout our lives and may show up through our behaviour, attitude, goals, achievements or the choice of friends we make.
As adults, in order to understand what beliefs we have formed, it is important to explore the environment and the people that were present in our early stages of life. This will allow us to understand how we respond to a situation today.
Do we respond through fear & worry?
If so, whose fears and worries are we carrying?
Or do we become overwhelmed and unable to handle a situation. Why is that so?
How we see ourselves amongst our friends, families and colleagues is impacted by our beliefs. Feelings of not being good enough often comes up in being self-critical and exploring through therapy is an opportunity to get connected with our true self by coming face to face with our core beliefs.
As a movement therapist my job is not only to listen to what the client is saying, but picking up the core beliefs they have been programmed with and working through them together to understand whether they hold much purpose in the here and now. This is the beginning of transforming the body and helping the client to heal themselves from pain.
We all have behavioural patterns that do not serve us. When we are living in balance, the body executes health and balance; when we are living out of line in life, pain will always show up in one way or another.
Stress is now the biggest contributor and cause of dis harmony in the body. The truth is that dis-ease and inflammation cannot live in a healthy body. What we think of as health is far cry away from our ancestors connection with mother nature. In fact as a society we are getting worse and not better.
So we have more information, pharmaceuticals and knowledge than ever before, but we are truly lacking in deep wisdom.
The oddest thing is that the worldly systems in place are not teaching us true health, just quick fix solution’s for symptoms. When was the last time someone asked you about your sleep, hydration, stress levels in relationships, assessed your breathing pattern, nutrition habits and movement patterns.
When did you last have moments of quiet, happiness, playfulness, creativity and  satiation from nutrient dense foods?

So lets take an example. Below is the one of the richest men in India -‘Anant Ambani’. He is truly suffering from many ailments, but how is this when he is one of the richest men on the planet?

‘Despite facing significant health challenges, Anant’s commitment to his padyatra remains steadfast. Anant has battled severe lung disease, extreme thyroid issues, and Cushing’s syndrome since childhood, conditions that have caused physical limitations. Despite these lifelong health struggles, they have never defined his spirit, and he has overcome his health issues with positivity and determination. Each night, he walks with unwavering determination, refusing to let his challenges hold him back from achieving his goals, whether spiritual or professional. 1 Hindusthani Times

Well no one ever treated the person just the disease, did anyone ask him about his daily challenges. The burden of carrying the family name and that much money, the societal and cultural expectation to name just a few.

His body is screaming for help and grounding. The medicine he has received may have solved one problem but has started another. Just imagine if we were all taught that the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional being are one. Someone like Anant would not only be able to exhibit health but he would have the ability to start worldwide changes by ;

  1. Healing himself first (you cannot give to others to you have given to yourself).
  2. Invest and create tribe and community services that start to educate the people who will in turn heal each other and the planet.
  3. Turn consumers into creators, imagine that?

Although this sounds far fetched, it only takes 10 years of change worldwide to change the last 100 years of damage and behaviour. We can see how much money was invested in covid worldwide, just imagine if that was invested in healing the people,  who would thus in turn heal the planet.

So if you have chronic pain and need support in where and how you are suffering. I cannot fix you, I will not provide a treatment plan but I will help you grow and understand the behaviours and belief systems that dictate your choices and your environment.

How will I do this?

  1. By providing thorough assessments that take a minimum of two weeks paperwork assessing everything from sleep, food and stool habits.
  2. Provide a tailor made written program that you will be able to follow at home and apply when you are challenged
  3. Coaching that helps you look at why we are driven by our subconscious
