SUMMARY:Feet and Gait Analysis in Movement
DESCRIPTION:We spend most of lives on two feet\, we are biped creatures. This one-day course will explore the biomechanics of the feet\, ankles\, knees and hips with regard to alignment and gait. Looking at how the shape of our feet interacts with ground force reaction and gravity.  Our elastic structures create and store energy to allow us to be efficient in our movement patterns but why do some of us have it and some of us don’t. Looking at how different structures relate to each other to create a balanced alignment and coordinated movement.\n\n\n\n\nHave you ever been told you have:-\n\na misaligned pelvis\none leg longer than the other\nover pronation in your feet\nlack of pronation in your feet\nrounded shoulders\nlack of mobility in your hips\nCan you feel or see that you:-\n\n\ngrind down your shoes on one side\nsound like an elephant coming\nalways lead with one leg\nconstantly sit with your head forward\nstruggle to move one shoulder like the other\nOr maybe you know you need to strengthen an area of the body such as:- glutes and core\n\n\nLearn strategies to improve this alignment and to improve joint mechanics to create even better efficiency of movement. \nThis one day course will be a mix of both theory and practical work. We will look in detail at the anatomy of the feet and legs including the mechanics of the joints involved\, but will bring this into a practical understanding using predominantly mat-based exercises for movement and manual therapists\, but will also look at some exercises using equipment.

SUMMARY:Postural Analysis in Breathing
DESCRIPTION:The word posture is derived from the Latin verb ponere\, meaning “to put or place.” The word analysis comes from the Greek word analyein\, meaning “to break up.” Therefore\, postural analysis is simply the process of “breaking up” the body to determine where it should be “put or placed.” \nWhen a vehicle’s alignment is off\, it manifests as uneven tread wear and loss of tire life. Likewise\, when a car’s tires are not balanced properly\, ride quality is diminished\, tire life is shortened\, and bearings and shock-absorber performance suffer. When one’s posture is off\, the human body also experiences a range of problems: restricted range of motion\, pain\, organ dysfunction\, and joint\, tendon\, ligament and muscle stress\, to name a few.

SUMMARY:Embodied anatomy & fascia in motion with Nisha Srivastava
DESCRIPTION:Creativity and awakening go hand in hand with our yoga practice. Nisha will deliver an anatomical experience with a difference using the latest research in fascia. The content is delivered through a rhythmic flow of exploration\, kinaesthetic\, and creative learning. The workshop has been researched using cadaveric material rather than just producing pretty pictures showing origins and insertions. We want to think about the integrated system\, a network of connections\, the subtle body using elements of life coaching\, body therapy\, dance\, bodywork\, somatic and martial arts. There will be a powerpoint demonstration plus some amazing ideas to take away and work on. A free online anatomical workshop will be gifted to all those who book.
